The New Horizons Foundation's 17th Annual Community Leadership Breakfast was held on Thursday, October 27th at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. Congratulations to this year's honorees: Tony Campilii & Barbara & Stephen Lumb.

Barbara Lumb

Barbara Lumb’s Professional experience has included serving as the Director of Endowment for United Way of Dutchess County, as a Fundraising Consultant for Northern Dutchess Hospital, a Management Consultant at St. George’s School, and as a Credit Manager as George W. Pratt & Son, Inc.

She has served on the Boards of: Vassar Brothers Hospital Auxiliary, Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie, United Way of Dutchess County, Anderson School Board of Trustees, Anderson School Foundation, Bardavon 1869 Opera House, Dutchess County Task Force for Child Protection.

She has served as Chair of the Board at: The American Red Cross, Dutchess County Chapter; and Dutchess Outreach. She has also served as the President of the Junior League of Poughkeepsie. She is a Graduate of Connecticut College for Women and Boston University where she received a B.A. in Philosophy. She is a Poughkeepsie Native.



Stephen Lumb

Stephen Lumb is the Founding Director of Riverside Bank, where he has served as a Board Member, the Chairman of the Executive Committee, and as Acting President. He also served as President of Hospitals Shared Services. Inc. from 1985 until 1989.

Stephen Lumb has had Board Memberships with: The American Red Cross, Dutchess County Chapter; Boy Scouts of America, Dutchess County Council; Chamber of Commerce of Dutchess County; Council of Industry of Southeastern New York; Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation; Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority; HealthQuest; Hospitals Shared Services, Inc.; Hudson Valley Philharmonic; Huguenot Historical Society; Mid-Hudson Health; Riverside Bank; and the United Way of Dutchess County.

He has also served as Board Chairman of: Dutchess County Industrial Development Authority  (1981-1992); United Way of Dutchess County (1980-1981); and Vassar Brothers Hospital.
His other Civic Involvements Include: Bardavon 1869 Opera House--Co-Chair of Capital Campaign; Committee for Dutchess County in the Year 2000; Dutchess County Arts Fund--Allocations Committee; Huguenot Historical Society—Finance Committee Chair; Phi Delta Theta (Williams College Chapter)--Treasurer (1962), President (1980-1981);  United Way of Dutchess County—Chairman of Allocations; Vassar Brothers Hospital—Trustee.

He is a graduate of Williams College and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration, and a Poughkeepsie native.



Anthony Campilii

Anthony Campilii retired in 2005 from his role as the Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer at Marist College where he has worked since receiving his B.A. in Business Administration there in 1962, and where he continued his studies and received an MBA in Business and Finance in 1980. He began his studies at Marist the first year that Laymen were permitted to enter after receiving a degree at Dutchess Community College in its second year of operation. He is currently the Treasurer and a Member of the Board of Directors for The Samuel F.B. Morse Historic Site at Locust Grove. He also currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors—Finance, Audit, and executive Committees at the Eleanor Roosevelt Historic Site at Val-Kill. He is currently serving as a Member of the Finance Committee at United Way of Dutchess County, and on the board of Directors at The Wappingers Playgroup Nursery School and Grinnell Library. His long-time commitment to the Marist College Center for Lifetime Studies has included service as Treasurer, Board of Directors, and Liason to College Administration. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Vassar-Warner Adult residence, and on their Finance and Foundation Investment Committees. He has been an active member of professional organizations such as: The Eastern and National Association of College and University Business Officers; the College and University Personnel Association; The Business Council of the State of New York; and the Mid-Hudson Chapter of Institute of Management Accounts where he served as President and is currently a Board Member. He has served as Treasurer for many Community Organizations including: The Village of Wappingers Falls (where he was born and still lives); The Mental Health Association of Dutchess County; Marist College’s Alumni Association; Wappingers Playgroup Nursery School; Grinnell Library; United Way of Dutchess County; and Marist College’s Center for Lifetime Studies.

His has also served as President of: St. Mary’s Parish Council; The Dutchess County Cooperative Extention; and Grinnell Library. His other Community Engagements have included: Serving on Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of Dutchess County; Dutchess County Cooperative Extension; and American Cancer Society. He has also served on the Fund-Raising Committee for Our Lady of Lourdes High School, and as a member of the Board of Governors for United Way of Dutchess County.


He is a father of three and grandfather of eight.
